Bluebonnet Elementary School

Counseling Overview

  • Bluebonnet Elementary is a very special elementary school. We have students from all over the world that make this campus very diverse. We use the Character Counts program that teaches students 6 very important traits. They are Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, Citizenship, and Fairness. Throughout the year we celebrate those students who exhibit those character traits and we are always encouraging students to rise to those expectations. At Bluebonnet Elementary, students learn that these are life-long traits that when learned and practiced on a daily basis are rewarding.

We use Love and Logic at Bluebonnet to help students understand that there are natural consequences to the choices that they make. Each student at Bluebonnet is respected for the individual that they are and we embrace all of our differences. The counselor, Mrs. Layne teaches these concepts to the students through whole group instruction, in small group settings, and individual instruction.

Parents may contact Mrs. Layne to discuss difficulties their child may be having at home or at school. These difficulties may include but are not limited to social, academic, and behavioral issues. At Bluebonnet we care about the whole person and strive to meet each individuals needs.

Bluebonnet is a great place to be and we are glad you are here!
