    August 1, 2019

    Dear Wellington Parents,

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer break and is looking forward to coming back for another fabulous school year at Wellington! We want to take this opportunity to welcome you and to provide you with some information regarding the 2019-2020 school year.

The first day of school, Tuesday, August 13th, is just a few days away! School hours are 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Doors will open at 7:15 a.m. Our theme for the year is “Happy Campers!” We are not just a school; we are a family, and we are HAPPY to have you and your child at Wellington Elementary!

Parents may check their child’s Skyward account beginning Aug. 2nd for their assigned teacher. Classroom lists will be posted on the front and cafeteria side windows outside the school on Friday, Aug. 9th at 5:00 p.m. Following the posting, PTA will be hosting a Popsicles on the Playground Social for all students from 6:30-7:30 that evening!  Kindergarten students will not be assigned a specific teacher until August 16th due to Kinder Camp taking place the first four days of school. If you do NOT want your child listed in the class postings, please email braunt@lisd.net by Wednesday, August 7th to let me know. Please join us for our orientations during the first few weeks of school.  We respectfully ask that all visitors refrain from coming to lunch the first two weeks of school, so that procedures and routines can be established.  Click on the link provided for our schedule of Back to School activities, including Parent Orientations.

    WELCOME

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Marlene Price will be joining us as an Assistant Principal! She will be a great addition to our Wellington Administrative team. Mrs. Price has 15 years of classroom teaching experience in Kinder, 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades, and she brings a wealth of experience with Curriculum, Assessment, Professional Learning Communities, and Response to Intervention. She will be an asset to our parents, students, and staff members!

The following topics will be covered in more detail at Parent Orientation Night, but please use these links as a future reference:
