    Communities In Schools is a nonprofit agency that coordinates and provides services to help young people overcome barriers, succeed in school, and prepare for life. There are many components to CIS including educational enhancement, enrichment activities, health and human services, pre-employment guidance, college preparation, parental involvement, and supportive guidance.
    Programs at Killough

    Mentoring– A volunteer is matched with a student and meets once a week at the school to help with class work, talk about life, and encourage students to succeed.

    Social Services– School supplies, clothing needs, glasses, medical, dental, and holiday assistance. As well as referrals to other agencies in the community to help with a variety of needs.

    College/Career Assistance– Helping students discover the possibilities after high school with field trips, college prep groups, application help, and financial aid.

    Supportive Guidance– Helping students with teen issues like anger, drugs, alcohol, motivation, self-esteem, choices, and peer and family relationships.
