Principal's Message

  • Welcome to the 2019–2020 school year!

I am excited to serve as principal for the students and faculty of Dale Jackson Career Center, alongside all LISD stakeholders!  Dale Jackson Career Center (DJCC) opened its doors in 1985 to serve all high school students in the district who elected to enroll in advanced Career and Technology Education (CTE) courses.  At DJCC, our students have the opportunity to take many courses including: A/V Production, Clinical Rotations, Collision Repair, Cosmetology, Education & Training, Forensic Science, Health Science, Hospitality, Information Technology, Wood Manufacturing, Welding, and Medical Assisting.  Students can also earn industry based certifications that increase their marketability upon graduation and prepare them for their future.

At DJCC, our students engage in authentic learning experiences that include real world applications.  The staff partners with our community, business, and industry professionals to provide internships and post-secondary opportunities for our students.  Thank you to all partners that provide exceptional environments for our students to experience success.

This year as we celebrate the past and present achievements of DJCC, at the end of this school year we will transition to the new Technology, Exploration, and Career Center – West (TECC-W).  There will be new and additional options for all high school students in LISD to explore their interests beginning next school year.  Thank you to our community for supporting the LISD Bond that will provide our students the ability to utilize industry standard equipment, in a state-of-the-art facility, to produce Future Ready citizens.
