Courtney Stokes

Ms. Stokes has been a Literary Dyslexia Interventionist at Timber Creek Elementary School since the 2020-2021 school year. Her passion for teaching students with Dyslexia stems from advocating for her own children that have Dyslexia.

Prior to moving to Texas she taught for 10 years in Arkansas. During that time she taught 2nd grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade. This is her second year teaching in LISD. In her role as a Literary Dyslexia Interventionist she provides Dyslexia services to students in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Ms. Stokes is certified K-12 Reading. She also has a Wilson Reading System certification along with training in several other Dyslexia programs. She has a Master of Art in Teaching, a Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Reading, and a BBA in Management Information Systems all from the University of Central Arkansas.

When Ms. Stokes isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family. She also enjoys reading, crafting, traveling, and volunteering in the community. She has two amazing children. Her daughter is going to the 11th grade and her son is going to the 2nd grade this year. They are both students in LISD.  Ms. Stokes is excited and looking forward to another awesome year at Timber Creek!
