Heather Fuston

Mrs. Fuston (formerly Ms. O’Toole)  has been the Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist at Timber Creek since 2015. Teaching reading and working with students with dyslexia is her passion! She loves coming to school each day and her students all hold special places in her heart.

Before coming to LISD in 2015, Mrs. Fuston taught for 11 years in different private schools in Dallas, Texas. She taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 2nd grade in addition to working as a private dyslexia therapist. Mrs. Fuston is a Certified Academic Language Therapist and a Licensed Dyslexia Therapist. She received her Masters degree in Education and completed her dyslexia training at SMU from 2007-2010. She got her undergraduate degree in architecture from Texas A&M University (whoop!).

Mrs. Fuston is married to Rowdy and they live in Highland Village. She has a daughter, Lilly, who is going into 5th grade at Timber Creek, and two bonus children who are going into 4th and 6th  grades in Frisco ISD. They have a very naughty beagle named Ellie, who enjoys walking on counter tops and stealing food any chance she can get, and a puppy named Hazel who loves to chew on everything! In her free time, Mrs. Fuston  enjoys reading historical fiction, doing Camp Gladiator, and escaping to the mountains as often as possible! :)
