The class offers students the opportunity to observe real life situations, thus allowing students the ability to make an informed decision on whether or not the health care industry matches their values, abilities and skills.
The content of the class is designed to allow the student to gain exposure to many aspects of healthcare. Some examples are: insurance, different types of healthcare organizations, infectious diseases and different medical specialties. The students will observe in a variety of clinical rotations in the hospital and outpatient settings, allowing firsthand experience while gaining important knowledge of areas that interest the student. Some examples may include: veterinarian, surgery, pediatrics and many more.
