    FEVER

    POLICY: Student’s assessed during the school day and identified with a fever will be sent home using the criteria from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Texas Administrative Code and the Center for Disease Control.

    PROCEDURE:

    Student’s assessed with fever of 100. degrees will be sent home and advised not to return to school until fever free.
    Students with fever of 100 degrees and an associated flu like symptom will be excluded from school until fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medicines following the CDC recommendations for ”Influenza in the School Setting”.
    This policy will be revised as directed by local, state and federal health officials responding to communicable disease trends such as influenza.
