Principal's Message

  • Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to the new school year!  My name is Andrea Smith and I am excited and blessed to be the Principal for Stewart’s Creek Elementary!  Our theme for this year is “Oceans of Possibilities".

I have been in LISD since 2007 where I have served as assistant principal at Creekside and Vickery and most recently the last four years at Central Elementary.  I look forward to seeing you and your student this year and working together to create a great partnership.

Prior to LISD, I was the Lead Bilingual Teacher at Freeman, Beaver and Hickman Elementary Schools in Garland ISD from 1996-2007.  I received my Bachelor of Arts in Management and a Certificate of International Business from Texas A&M University, College Station.  I earned a Master of Bilingual Education from Souther Methodist University and am now currently working on my Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Dallas Baptist University.

I challenge you to volunteer this year, whether it is one hour or a day and find ways to participate in your child’s education.  Our PTA is a great way to stay connected.

Thank you for trusting us with your greatest treasure, your child.  We are all navigating these uncharted waters, but we can do it together.  Our doors are always open, please let us know how we can better serve your family.  You should receive information every Friday through the folders and teachers send home newsletters with important information.

    Miss Smith
