My name is Ms. Babb, and I am one of your 4th grade science and engineering . Although I’ve been in the classroom for 10 years, I am entering my 9^th year as the teacher of record. Additionally, I have also taught 5th grade reading/language arts and social studies, as well as 4^th grade science in another district. Teaching however, is not my first career. I have a history of supporting and advocating for kids first as a teenage runaway counselor and as Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer here in Dallas. My previous careers include an extensive default mortgage banking work history as well as an extended career with the Department of Defense in various federal roles. I am a graduate from Dallas Baptist University. On a more personal level, I am the mother of 1 daughter, and I also have 1 granddaughter and a grandson. I lived in Germany for 8 years with the US Army. I’ve also lived in El Paso, Lincoln, NE,  Maryland, and Sugarland, Texas. However, there is no place like my home of Philadelphia, PA. I love to travel, and I keep a current passport. I enjoy rooting for my beloved Philadelphia Eagles NFL team.  I am looking forward to helping our little Mavericks develop a deep interest and connection with both science and engineering this year.
