Welcome Mavericks!

  • It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as the principal of the STEM Academy at Memorial Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead LISD’s newest campus.

I began my career in education in Conway Public Schools after graduating from the University of Central Arkansas.  Go Bears!  After 4 years I moved to Texas and began my serving in Lewisville ISD.  After 13 years in the classroom and 3 years as an instructional coach, I began my adventures in administration.  I served as an Assistant Principal and Virtual Pathway Administrator prior to being named Principal of Memorial.  I am ecstatic to begin my 21st year in education with each of you.

My vision is to create a school where we engage, equip, and empower all students to reach their full potential. Our focus at Memorial will be every child, every minute, every day.  We will aim to build and maintain a campus culture that allows us to know each student by name and by need. Our main priority is ensuring that Maverick receives an enriching academic experience.

I love to be innovative and creative in the ways that we engage students in learning. I believe that all children are capable of learning and with hardwork and perseverance we can ensure that all students are successful.   The highlight of my role is being able to see students learning and growing when visiting classrooms.

Thank you for sharing your children with us. I am eager to connect with all of you and begin our amazing journey together.  It is going to be an exceptional year at Memorial Elementary and I can’t wait to meet you all.

    Sincerely,

    Stephanie N. Lawson

    Memorial ES Principal
