Lea Ashcraft

Mrs. Lea Ashcraft  has been an Elementary Music Teacher  since 2011 and is excited to start her 7th year at Timber Creek Elementary. She has a background in vocal and instrumental music and has taught elementary general music, elementary band, and high school marching band.

Mrs. Ashcraft comes from a family of music educators—her mother, sister, and brother have also been music teachers! She has grown up with the mindset that music is more than singing and instruments—it can teach important life skills such as:

  • Confidence
  • Responsibility
  • Critical Thinking
  • Collaboration

Before becoming a Music Teacher, Mrs. Ashcraft grew up in Sioux Falls, SD where she excelled in both vocal and instrumental music. She attended the University of Northwestern-St. Paul and South Dakota State University for her Bachelor’s in Music Education, and earned a Master’s in Education Leadership through Southwest Minnesota State University. Mrs. Ashcraft also spent four years as a member of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps and had the opportunity to travel and perform throughout the United States over the course of her four years with the group. She was honored to win a World Championship and serve as the trumpet section leader during her time with Phantom Regiment.

Mrs. Ashcraft started her teaching career in South Dakota and relocated to Texas after meeting her husband, who is a native Texan from DFW. They are proud parents to two sons. She has taught elementary music in Richardson ISD, Northwest ISD, and is now proud to be an educator serving Lewisville ISD. When she first started at Timber Creek she immediately felt like a member of the family and is thrilled to continue her teaching career as a Tiger!  If you would like to know more about Mrs. Lea Ashcraft, please feel free to reach out to her in person or by email.
