Hello from the Media Center at Hicks! I am Kat Goldin and I am thrilled and proud to be your teacher librarian here at Hicks Elementary.
This is my 13th year as a librarian, but my 26th year in education. I enjoy all kinds of literature (fiction, graphic novels, biographies, periodicals, audio books and non-fiction for self and curriculum needs) especially science-literacy and experiential learning.
I am grateful for my marriage and have 2 grown, independent children who live locally. Family is important to us, as is learning, traveling, and being outdoors, but what makes me truly joyful is YOUR child.
Being with your learner as they go on reading adventures and research exciting new ideas is what makes being a librarian the best job in the school!
Together we will become leaders as we read more, discover, and investigate all the WHYS. I am able to work with every student at Hicks which is extremely rewarding. Hicks is a sterling campus, and the environment is perfect for your child’s social/emotional well-being and educational success.
Thank you for this opportunity!
