Digital Citizenship

Digital Citizenship is the set of norms associated with appropriate and responsible use of technology. All McKamy students engage in conversation about digital citizenship throughout the school year, but 7th graders will focus on these TEKS intensively this fall. 7th grade students will complete 5 Digital Citizenship lessons using the app Digital Compass from Common Sense Media. Through these choose-your-own adventure stories, students will use their knowledge of safe and appropriate online practices to help the characters make good decisions as they face dilemmas in the digital world. Students will be given the opportunity to work on these lessons during Texas History classes, with support available from their teacher and the library media specialist.
