Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Christy Jarrett

I have been the Librarian at Morningside since 2006.  I am convinced that working around terrific kids and books all day is the best job in the world.  There is nothing more fun than helping someone find that perfect book and encouraging students to be lifelong readers.

I have two daughters, Sarah and Katherine, who both grew up in The Colony and attended Morningside. Spending time with them is my favorite thing to do, followed closely by reading and raising pet chickens.  This picture shows my family visiting my mom's great-great grandfather's memorial. His name was Jose Antonio Navarro, and he was one of the only Hispanic people to sign Texas's Declaration of Independence from Mexico.

I studied History and English at UTA and taught middle school social studies for 8 years before becoming a librarian.  I got my Master's in Library Science from UNT in 2004.
