LISD Jan. 11 Board Meeting Recap

The Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees met for the regularly scheduled Board Meeting Monday, Jan. 11.


PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Board led the meeting in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Texas Pledge. 

CONSIDER ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION

The Board approved items discussed in Closed Session, recommended by administration.

SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE

LISD Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rogers shared the district's update regarding COVID and the 87th Legislative Session. 

Dr. Rogers also introduced Matthew Morris, who was recently hired as the district's Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

RECOGNITIONS

January is School Board Appreciation Month — a great time to focus on the role Lewisville ISD’s Board of Trustees play in the community and schools. To show LISD’s Board appreciation for their dedication and hard work, each campus submitted a poster/banner to be displayed on the walls of the LISD Board Room during the Jan. 11 Board Meeting. Hebron and Flower Mound High School Bands were virtually recognized for earning second and third place, respectively, in the 2020 6A UIL State Marching Band Contest.

The Colony High School Principal Dr. Tim Baxter was virtually recognized for earning the Texas Music Educators Association Distinguished Administrator Award.

Approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the LISD Facility Services Center Renovation project formerly named as the Dale Jackson Career Center Renovation project included in the 2017 Bond. Details

Approved the 2021-2022 Academic Calendar. Details

Approved the Hills of Kingswood Boundary Adjustments. Details

Approved the boundary adjustments due to the retirement of Stewart's Creek Elementary. Details

Approved the boundary adjustments due to the new elementary STEM Academy on Josey Lane (opening Fall 2021). Details
 
Approved the Resolution of extended leave for employee quarantine for the 2020-2021 school year. Details
