High School Marching Bands Begin 2024 Competition Season

All five LISD high schools recently competed in area contests, will begin UIL competition this weekend.

This October, Lewisville ISD Marching Bands have begun taking their 2024 competition shows on the road.

UIL competition begins this Saturday, October 19th, with all five LISD programs performing at the Region 2 Marching Contest at CH Collins Stadium in Denton. Families and community members are invited to attend – admission is free and the event is open to the public.

The Region 2 Contest includes 29 marching bands across classifications 2A – 6A. Performances will be evaluated by three adjudicators with groups earning division ratings. A ‘Superior’ rating earned will advance programs to the Area Marching Contest, where groups will be scored in preliminary and finals rounds with top scoring groups advancing to state. The UIL State Marching Contest will be held for all six high school classifications in the San Antonio Alamodome during the first two weeks of November.


The Lewisville ISD Fine Arts Department oversees Art, Band, Choir, Dance, Music, Orchestra, and Theatre at LISD’s five high schools,15 middle schools and 40 elementary campuses. Talented arts educators and program directors foster student creativity, cultural awareness, inventiveness, and develop performance skills through these courses. Annually, Fine Arts students achieve State qualifications, earn Sweepstakes performance ratings and gain national recognition through their Fine Arts programs.
