Killough Family Notice | Dec. 8

UPDATE | Dec. 9

Killough Families,

I want to update you on yesterday’s situation and let you know law enforcement determined a school outside of Lewisville ISD was the target of the social media messages that were investigated. That campus and its local officers have been made aware and are responding appropriately.

As always, the safety and security of our students and staff is our top priority.
Thank you for your continued support of our campus.

Family Notice | Dec. 8

I think it is important to share information with you, even if it does not directly impact your child. Today we were made aware of a threatening message posted to social media. Killough administration and the Lewisville Police Department have fully investigated the situation and it was determined there was no threat to our campus. Out of an abundance of caution, additional security measures will be in place on campus today, Wednesday, Dec. 8.

We are so grateful to the students and parents who reached out to our campus and law enforcement to report this situation. They did exactly what they were supposed to do, which is if you see something, say something.

I want to emphasize how important it is for students, parents and community members to reach out to the police or the campus when something suspicious is heard or seen. Parents, please stress to your child the severity of making threatening statements to anyone in any way. We always, ALWAYS take these situations seriously and investigate them fully.

Thank you for being our partner in the education of your children, and for your continued support of our campus.
