Students and staff for Lewisville High School Killough were recognized at the Lewisville Chamber's monthly luncheon held at the Chamber's event center in Lewisville, Texas on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
School of the Month – LHS Killough
Lewisville High School - Killough, is a proud part of the Fighting Farmers community. LHS Killough is committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment where students can thrive academically and personally. As a 9th and 10th grade campus, they focus on building a strong foundation for their students' educational journey. Their dedicated faculty and staff work tirelessly to create innovative and meaningful learning experiences to prepare students for success in the real world.
Teacher of the Month – Madeline Turek
From the moment Ms. Turek stepped onto the campus of LHS Killough, she has been a valued asset. Her willingness to hone her craft in the classroom, seek opportunities to build relationships and serve students, and add creative ideas to the campus culture has stood out and made her a bright light on the campus. She currently serves as the campus Student Council sponsor, a member of the student experiences committee, and continues to be a part of innovative campus initiatives that they hope will become ingrained in Killough culture and tradition. Madeline Turek is, without doubt, a worthy teacher of the month as well as an example of a service and growth-minded leader.
Student of the Month – Katherine Caballero
Kathy Caballero consistently demonstrates kindness, often going out of her way to support classmates and foster a positive environment. Her dedication to success is evident in her academic pursuits, where she not only strives for excellence but also encourages others to reach their potential. Additionally, Kathy is incredibly reliable, always meeting deadlines and taking responsibility on group projects, making her a trusted leader among peers and very valued in the AVID classroom. She is truly one of a kind.
Exceptional Student of the Month – Kegan Watson
Kegan Watson is a dedicated 10th-grade student at LHS Killough. Known for his helpful and positive attitude, Kegan is always eager to assist his teachers and classmates. He consistently strives for excellence and goes above and beyond in his studies. Kegan's passion lies in Social Studies, and in his free time, he enjoys exploring the world of video games.
