May 16, 2019 — Kim Mosely of The Colony High School has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union May Teacher of the Month – the ninth and final honoree of the 2018-2019 school year.
Mosely, a science teacher, was honored because of her dedication and energy given each day to her students and school. Her principal says she is innovative and always looking for ways to engage students. She is known for building lasting, positive relationships with both students and faculty.
As Science Department Head, Mosely leads her peers to excellence. She also takes pride in being one of the three longest-tenured staff members at TCHS. She has been teaching in Lewisville ISD for 31 years – 30 have been at TCHS.
“I am very honored and surprised to be named Teacher of the Month,” Mosely said. “I love education. I am thankful for the administrations of The Colony High School and Lewisville ISD for providing me opportunities to grow in my position and help students be successful.”
Mosely was honored with the award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on May 16 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon held at Growler USA. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and Chamber Board President David Peerson made the presentation. Mosely was joined at the event by TCHS Principal Dr. Tim Baxter and Assistant Principal Justin Gilbreath. United States Olympian Johnny Quinn was the guest speaker.
