The Colony High School Students and Staff Treated to Taco Party
Thanks to North Texas Bells, The Colony High School students and staff members were treated to a Taco Bell party – consisting of 2,000 tacos – after school on a rainy April 15. Local radio station 106.1 KISS-FM and DJ Billy the Kidd was also in attendance spinning tunes.
The large and colorful Taco Bell truck, equipped with eight workers, was parked in the west parking lot of campus. The hard-working team cranked out all of the crunchy tacos in under 1 hour. Dr Pepper also donated more than 900 sodas for the party, while the TCHS cheerleaders added energy.
“I cannot thank North Texas Bells enough for the wonderful time,” TCHS Principal Dr. Tim Baxter said. “Despite the rain, this event was a huge success due to them organizing every detail and their passion for feeding kids. I would love to partner with them in the years ahead.”
North Texas Bells, which was founded in 2011, has provided food donations to first responders within the communities of 58 Taco Bell restaurants. Due to COVID-19, it was brought to light the high percentage of children experiencing food insecurity within the metroplex. So, North Texas Bells added a goal of ensuring no child goes home hungry at a school it visits.
Mission accomplished at TCHS.
“It was a great event showcasing the energy and excitement around the Taco Bell brand,” North Texas Bells Executive Vice President of Operations Peter Allen said.
