The Mound Showdown Community Pep Rally

FMHS and MHS Community Pep Rally October 22, 2018 — Flower Mound and Marcus High Schools, in conjunction with The Flower Mound Foundation, celebrated the upcoming Mound Showdown Varsity Football Game with an inaugural community pep rally Monday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. on The Flower Mound.

Community members and FMHS and MHS feeder schools were all invited to join both schools to celebrate this long-standing, friendly rivalry at the top of The Mound.

For the event, student council presidents flipped a coin to determine which school flag would be raised on The Mound first. FMHS won the toss and raised their flag while the school song played, followed by MHS.

Lewisville ISD Assistant Chief of Schools Andy Plunkett, MHS Principal Will Skelton, Flower Mound 9th Grade Principal Jeff Brown, Student Council Presidents, Town of Flower Mound Council Member Kevin Bryant and representatives from The Flower Mound Foundation all shared remarks about coming together as one community for the special occasion.

Among guests in attendance were LISD Board President Angie Cox, MHS and FMHS drill teams, cheerleaders, student councils and various community members.
