Senior Rosecutting

86th Celebration!

Tuesday, May 18, 2021

9:00am in the LHS Arena

All LHS Graduating Seniors are invited to attend the beautiful Rosecutting Ceremony for the Class of 2021!

Rosecutting has been a Lewisville tradition since 1935.  This ceremony is very special to seniors as they show their unity and enjoy their last time together as an entire class before graduating. Each senior will be able to select what friends they want to sit with during Rosecutting since graduation is in alphabetical order. All seniors are connected by a long maroon ribbon tied to their rose.  Rosecutting symbolizes the separation from their class and high school as they move on to the next stage of life.  Seniors will go to the stage with their groups of friends and cut the ribbon that connects them.  The ceremony will end with a senior slide show presentation. Unfortunately, this year we will not be allowed to have parents/guests but may watch the Livestream or recording on our new YouTube Channel:

In person Seniors will be released from 1st period classes at 8:25am.  Virtual students and early graduates may enter through the Arena (Activities Center) Entrance and will need to show their Skyward account, photo ID or school ID. TECC/LLC will need to check in for attendance at 8:20 at the attendance table in the Arena foyer. All participating Seniors will need to bring $1 to participate to cover the cost of the roses and ribbons.  Bring $1 cash with you.  We will not have change.

Seniors must be in the arena NO LATER than 8:30am dressed in nice attire.

Dresses, slacks, Nice jeans are appropriate. no athletic wear
