HHS Parking Update - Aug. 2

Aug. 2, 2019

Hawk Students and Parents,

I have good news to share with you! After working hard this past week to find a solution to our parking shortage, I am happy to tell you that we have worked things out!

After consulting with LISD facilities staff, working with our construction company, and getting help from Ms. Werneke at Hebron 9, we have regained enough parking to ensure we can meet the demand for parking passes.

Seniors interested in a painted parking spot will be able to purchase one of the 83 parking spaces on the hill for $100 ($95 if you have already purchased a general parking sticker). On Friday, Aug. 9, a link will be sent to Seniors through Skylert. On Monday, Aug. 12 starting at 9 a.m., the link will become active and Seniors will be able to fill out a form to reserve their spot. The first 83 students will be granted a space. Once 83 spaces have been filled, the link will shut down. Students who obtain one of the 83 spaces will receive a communication from STUCO for the design and payment instructions.

Juniors will be able to purchase general parking permits for $5 starting Monday, Aug. 12 at 9 a.m. through the first week of school.

Sophomores will be able to purchase general parking permits for $5 starting Monday, Aug. 19.

I know this situation has created a great deal of frustration for parents and students, and I regret a resolution was not found earlier. However, I am grateful for the collaboration between our campus, district leaders and the construction company, which allowed us to find a way to make it all work!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
