While away from campus, staff unites through video.
Virtually passing rolls of toilet paper, washing hands, sharing smiles and dancing for the camera; these videos, starring the staff of Lakeview Middle School, have it all. During this time of school closures, the campus is keeping hopes up, even while separated from their students.
“When the district announced the first closure, we recognized our families would be presented with many new challenges,” Lakeview Principal Dr. Beri Deister said. “Not only are many of our parents and students trying to figure out how to share a working space, they are working through a time of health and economic crisis.”
With such unique circumstances falling on families, the leadership team at Lakeview wanted to help share vital information, while keeping up the positive spirit of the Lakeview family.
“The intent of the messages was simple,” Desister said. “Keep them focused, positive and share key at-home learning points in two minutes or less.”
“I just wanted to keep videos fun, engaging and upbeat, just like our campus,” Lakeview Assistant Principal Dr. Victor Jones said. “I am hopeful that they can bring smiles to our students, staff and the community.”
This series of videos is another great way the campus is continuing the spirit of #TheLakeviewWay, even while the campus doors are closed.
