Hedrick Middle School Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU December School of the Month

The campus is the fourth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.

HMS1 Hedrick Middle School (HMS) has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union December School of the Month – the fourth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.

HMS was chosen because of its constant dedication, hard work and energy given toward student success, as well as successfully implementing Lewisville ISD’s Four Cornerstones.

Since school started this year, HMS has surprised the Lewisville Police Department’s SWAT Team with breakfast, brought back former student Kris Gutierrez of NBC 5 to speak with students, had its theater students perform Junie B. Jones for students from the new school Mill Street Elementary and treated construction workers building their new school with holiday treats and thank you letters.

HMS continuously goes above and beyond to ensure students thrive in a future they create, which is why the campus was named December School of the Month.

Hamric accepted the award Jan. 28 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and Chamber Board Chair Ann Pape made the presentation. Hamric was joined by teacher Hannah McMichael and student Denyse Bonifacio.
