Griffin Middle School’s McCullough Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union January Student of the Month
Eighth-grader is fifth honoree of 2019-2020 school year.
Griffin Middle School eighth-grade Richard McCullough has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union January Student of the Month – the fifth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
McCullough is described as an excellent example of what Griffin Middle School is all about. He greets others with a smile and positive eye contact and is a leader on campus. McCullough is involved in multiple school activities including AVID and athletics, and is a committed leader in both areas. His principal shared that she finds great value in students who not only behave in ways that exhibit leadership, but also consciously strive to be a leader among their peers — she said McCullough is one of those students. His desire to positively impact and lead his peers is why McCullough has been selected as the Chamber’s January Student of the Month.
McCullough accepted the award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on Feb. 20 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon at Venture X, the new shared workspace at The Realm at Castle Hills. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber’s Board President Gary Briggs made the presentation.
McCullough was joined at the event by his parents, Richard and Marshawn, as well as Griffin Principal Heather Garrison. 2019-2020 The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union Students of the Month
