Griffin Middle School’s Linz Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union January Teacher of the Month
Linz is fifth honoree of 2019-2020 school year.
Tara Linz of Griffin Middle School has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union January Teacher of the Month – the fifth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year. For years Linz has served as a valuable member of Griffin’s team, and her principal says the school is lucky to have her on campus. Linz can always be counted on to step up to the plate, and is described as a true leader for the eighth-grade staff. Not only is Linz a master with math content, but she also deeply values creating a safe, collaborative environment for students and taking the time to build strong relationships to support them. It is no surprise Linz has been selected as Griffin’s 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year, and it’s for these reasons and more she has been selected as the Chamber’s January Teacher of the Month.
Linz was honored with the award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on Feb. 20 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon at Venture X, the new shared workspace at The Realm at Castle Hills. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber’s Board President Gary Briggs made the presentation.
Linz was joined at the event by Griffin Principal Heather Garrison.
