Lewisville ISD Announces Three New Principals
May 6, 2019 — Lewisville ISD (LISD) announced May 6 the appointments of three new principals for the 2019-2020 school year – Curtis Martin, Downing Middle School; Rebecca Chirinos, Peters Colony Elementary; Patrick Guy, Rockbrook Elementary. The three candidates were approved at the May 6 Board of Trustees work session.
Curtis Martin, Downing Middle School — Martin currently serves as principal of Hicks Elementary, a position he has held since 2011. Prior to leading Hicks, Martin served as an assistant principal at Killian Middle School and Creek Valley Middle School. In total, Martin has more than 20 years of experience in public education. Martin earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Oklahoma State University. He also received a Master of Science in Geography from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. He holds Principal (EC-12) and Secondary Social Studies Composite (6-12) certifications.
Rebecca Chirinos, Peters Colony Elementary — Chirinos currently serves as an assistant principal at Southridge Elementary. Prior to joining Southridge’s administrative team in 2018, Chirinos served as an assistant principal at Peters Colony Elementary for five years. Chirinos also spent seven years teaching in Lewisville ISD. She received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Concordia University. Chirinos has certifications in Principal (EC-12), Generalist (EC-6), Generalist (4-8) and English as a Second Language Supplemental (EC-8).
Patrick Guy, Rockbrook Elementary — Guy currently serves as principal of Ashworth Elementary in Arlington ISD, a position he has held since 2016. Prior to leading Ashworth, Guy served as principal at Foster Village Elementary and Holiday Heights Elementary in Birdville ISD. In total, Guy has 20 years of experience in education, including 17 years with Birdville ISD. Guy earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Memphis and a Master of Education from Texas Christian University. He holds certifications in Principal (EC-12) and Elementary Self-Contained (1-6).
