DeLay Middle School Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU April School of the Month

SOMApril April 23, 2019 — DeLay Middle School has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union April School of the Month – the eighth honoree of the 2018-2019 school year.

DeLay Middle School was chosen because of its constant dedication, hard work and energy given toward student success, as well as successfully implementing Lewisville ISD’s Four Cornerstones. The DeLay World Journey (a 24-hour Skype-a-Thon connecting with classes and people around the globe), having students accepted into LISD’s Collegiate Academy at The Colony High School, participation with Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness and Outdoor Trails classes hosting the Lewisville Fire Department are just some examples of how DeLay Middle School continuously goes above and beyond to ensure students thrive in a future they create.

“DeLay Middle School is an amazing school because of the dedication of our students, staff, families and community,” DeLay Middle School Principal Jim Baker said. “It is a place where kindness and love lead the way while meaningful learning is the daily operation. We are so grateful to the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce for its support.”

Baker and DeLay Middle School Secretary Arianna Villarreal accepted the award April 23 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and Chamber Board Chair Dan Irvin made the presentation.

DATCU will present the entire DeLay Middle School staff with its award on campus later this month.
