DeLay Middle School’s Carter Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership April Teacher of the Month

TeacherApril April 23, 2019 — Chris Carter of DeLay Middle School has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville April Teacher of the Month — the eighth honoree of the 2018-2019 school year.

Carter is described as a Science teacher who, despite being her 11th year teaching, has the enthusiasm of a first-year teacher. Her impact and connection is that of a 25-year veteran. Carter has the highest expectations for every single student and can bring all of them to the next level. She is the teacher that parents want their children to have.

Carter’s popular Science Club continues to grow, take on more challenges and changes more lives than can be counted.

“Being named Teacher of the Month is exciting,” Carter said. “I love that I get to interact with kids and see a difference in them every single day. It’s not just about what they learn in Science class, but that they are becoming better people and learning how to be contributors on the global scene.”

Carter accepted the award April 23 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott. Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville Business Relations Director Fred Whitfield and Chamber Board Chair Dan Irvin made the presentation. Carter was joined at the luncheon by DeLay Middle School Principal Jim Baker, Secretary Arianna Villarreal, and Lewisville ISD Assistant Chief of Schools Andy Plunkett.

Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville will present Carter with her award on campus this month.
