Students, staff and DeLay Middle School were recognized at the Lewisville Chamber's monthly luncheon held at the chamber's event center in Lewisville, Texas on Tuesday, April 23.
School of the Month - Delay Middle School
Delay Middle School has been working on building a positive school culture. Teachers had the privilege to participate in Restorative Practices training at the beginning of the year. During this training, the focus was on learning strategies to connect with students to create a culture of kindness and understanding. DeLay staff have been working hard at creating relationships with each student so that they know that they are safe and loved and to create a great place to learn.
Student of the Month - Stephany Salmeron
Stephany Salmeron is a leader at the DeLay campus and has continued to work hard in her academics. She is an outstanding student that works hard and is always helping those around her. Stephany is a brave, independent student who will achieve her goal with her perseverance and resiliency.
Exceptional Student of the Month - Angela Santos
Angela is a creative and hardworking student that always brings joy to the classroom. She’s so smart and is always willing to go the extra mile for students and teachers around the school. She’s a generous and kind friend to others and a wonderful choice for DeLay’s student of the month!
Teacher of the Month - Trisha Nelson
Mrs. Nelson is an integral part of the Delay positive culture. She builds relationships with each student that she comes in contact with and her positive energy is contagious. She will stand at her duty station in the mornings and throw sunshine at each person that walks in.
