Dec. 21, 2018 — Students in Marlene Price's second-grade class recently helped “ring” in the holiday season with the Salvation Army.
"We spend a lot of time in class throughout the year talking about how we can give to others and spread kindness to those around us, so it only seemed fitting to put this into action," Price said.
During a visit to the Walmart Neighborhood Market store, students took turns ringing the bell and explaining to shoppers how donations would help those in need. After each donation made, students would jump and cheer with excitement.
Price added, "My hope is that this experience will not only be a memory that they will always treasure but that it will also inspire them to continue serving our community and giving to others with an open heart."
