Vickery Elementary’s Kemp Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership January Teacher of the Month
Second grade teacher is fifth honoree of 2019-2020 school year.
Angie Kemp of Vickery Elementary has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville January Teacher of the Month — the fifth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
On a campus full of positive and dedicated staff members, Kemp is described as one who sets the standard. She shines as the second grade team leader, evident by keeping everyone informed and speaking up for the needs of students and teachers. She is everyone’s biggest cheerleader – the loudest at pep rallies and most eager to welcome new students and staff. She always remains positive with change and challenges.
It is for these reasons and more Kemp has been selected as the January Teacher of the Month.
“I am so honored and humbled to be named Teacher of the Month,” Kemp said. “I try to always make sure my students know they are cared about and that learning is the priority – and it can be a lot of fun!”
Kemp accepted the award Jan. 28 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott. Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville Business Relations Director Fred Whitfield and Chamber Board Chair Ann Pape made the presentation. Kemp was joined at the luncheon by VES Principal Adam Gray.
