Rockbrook Elementary Students Learn Basic Logic of Programming
Seven employees from The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) volunteered their time on Sept. 25 to teach all Rockbrook Elementary third-grade students basic logic of programming using Ozbots.
The DTCC group visited the individual classrooms of Sheri Cuccaro, Susan Gunnoe, Kiya Huegel-Jones and Catherine Moxley. They were impressed with the Rockbrook Elementary students.
“The engagement and excitement level of all the students was great,” DTCC Enterprise Infrastructure Systems Director Miechelle Krueger said. “I was also impressed at how quickly they picked up the training and how polite they were. It was a pleasure to be here.”
Added DTCC Asset Services Manager Heather Frisina: “We feel it’s important to cultivate talent into our workforce. We want to get young people excited about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) careers. It’s evident these Rockbrook Elementary third graders have bright futures.”
