Mrs. Haydin accepts her Teacher of the Month honor Katie Haydin of Rockbrook Elementary has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville September Teacher of the Month — the first honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.

Haydin is described as a phenomenal educator who has served Rockbrook in several roles, including time as a third-grade teacher and now serves students in special education. She is also a new teacher mentor and has spent countless hours after school and on the weekends working diligently to ensure new teachers are supported. "It is truly an honor to have been chosen as September Teacher of the Month,” Haydin said. “Thank you to The Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce and Huffines Lewisville for supporting teachers and giving this award monthly. I am so thankful to be able to do what I love everyday and serve the students at Rockbrook Elementary."

Haydin accepted the award Sept. 24 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott in Flower Mound. Huffines Auto Dealership-Lewisville Business Relations Director Fred Whitfield and Chamber Board Chair Dan Irvin made the presentation.
