White Coat Tradition Continues at Polser Elementary
Staff earn special token at STEM Academy.
The Lewisville ISD STEM Academy at Polser Elementary is home to a talented group of staff members. Throughout the school year, as each one earns their National Certificate for STEM Teaching, they are honored in front of their colleagues with a unique token of their achievement, a tradition that began in early 2019.
The STEM certification takes time, research and collaboration with other Polser staff members - no easy feat, especially once the school year gets underway.
Once complete, the staff member who earns the honor gets a special certificate, a white lab coat and cheers from fellow Polser staff at a staff meeting.
The white lab coat is embroidered with the staff members' name and their own unique seal, representing their particular job, whether that be teaching a certain grade level, specific subject or a school special like art.
This celebration is just another way to make teaching at Polser even more special.
