FMHS Soccer Wins State Championship

Jaguars topple San Antonio LEE 4-1 in penalty kicks to claim first state crown.

May 1, 2019—In April, Flower Mound High School’s Boys Soccer team captured the University Interscholastic League 6A State Championship after defeating San Antonio LEE in a shootout. The game was won in thrilling fashion as the Jaguars outlasted the Volunteers 4-1 in penalty kicks following a scoreless regulation and overtime. The Jaguars road to the program’s first-ever state championship title also included an impressive 14-game winning streak.

In addition to the historic season, 19 players and managers earned Academic All-State honors, with multiple players named to All-District, All-Area, and All-State teams. Head Coach David Doyle was also named Area Coach of the Year.
