Lewisville ISD Announces Three New Principals
April 15, 2019 — Lewisville ISD (LISD) announced April 15 the appointments of three new principals for the 2019-2020 school year – Kyndra Tyler, Lewisville High School Killough; Vanesa Asbun, Lakeland Elementary; and Virginia Gwyn, Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center. The three candidates were approved at the April 15 Board of Trustees meeting.
“These educators will be tremendous assets to their respective campuses,” LISD Superintendent Dr. Kevin Rogers said. “I am confident students and staff will continue to thrive under the leadership of these new principals.”

Kyndra Tyler, Lewisville High School Killough — Tyler currently serves as an assistant principal at Lewisville High School Killough, a position she has held since 2015. She has nearly 15 years of experience in education and in 2018 was named LISD’s Assistant Principal of the Year — Secondary. Tyler earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of North Texas and a Master of Educational Administration from Concordia University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University. Tyler holds Principal (EC-12), Professional Development Appraisal System (PDAS), Instructional Leadership Development and English Language Arts and Reading (8-12) certifications.
Vanesa Asbun, Lakeland Elementary — Asbun currently serves as assistant principal at Creekside Elementary, a position she has held since 2015. She has nearly 15 years of experience in education and in 2018 was named LISD’s Assistant Principal of the Year — Elementary. In addition, Asbun has experience in clinical psychology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology as well as a master’s degree in cognitive psychology from Bolivian Catholic University. Asbun holds Principal (EC-12), Generalist (EC-4) and Bilingual Education Supplemental-Spanish (EC-4) certifications.
Virginia Gwyn, Lillie J. Jackson Early Childhood Center — Gwyn is currently principal of Brent Elementary in Little Elm ISD and has 12 years of experience in education, including four years at the administrative level. Prior to joining LEISD, Gwyn spent five years in LISD. She received a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Ohio University and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University. Gwyn has certifications in Principal (EC-12) and Generalist (EC-4).
