RECOGNITIONS
The Board of Trustees and Dr. Rapp recognized our LISD 2024-2025 Elementary and Secondary Campus Teachers of the Year.
SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE
As a part of her update, Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp began by recapping the Martin Luther King Jr. celebration. She proudly reported that our CTE program has been awarded as a district of distinction. She then recognized two elementary spelling bee winners. She also celebrated our new Collegiate Academy Cohort that includes 130 LISD students. Additionally, she gave recent updates from her student advisory committees, and local rotary and chambers. She honored Arbor Creek Band and Marcus Percussion Ensemble for their TMEA Honors. She celebrated the high school art show Superintendent award winner, Mia Martinez, from TCHS. She shared about the 100th day of school, supper with the Superintendent, data revealed from the second staff pulse check and thanked our teachers for their continued dedication to our district. She also gave a campus retirement update and let staff and families know when to expect further communication from the district. Lastly, she reminded everyone about black history month, the upcoming HBCU fair, Chin festival and Career Out.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Community members spoke about upcoming legislation regarding public education and the importance of getting involved at the local level. They also commented about potential changes in the curriculum.
