Stewart Creek’s Hudson Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union February Teacher of the Month
Kristie Hudson of Stewart’s Creek Elementary has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union February Teacher of the Month – the sixth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
Hudson’s principal says she continuously goes above and beyond to better serve her students and school. As Stewart’s Creek’s music teacher, Hudson’s students perform new material every month for the PTA, and the honor choir always participates in various activities to support the community. Beyond music, she also leads the school’s dance club, which meets every Friday afternoon. And, in a tremendous show of support for fellow school districts, Hudson’s choir club and dance club performed at Hebron Valley Elementary to help raise funds for tornado victims in Dallas ISD and Richardson ISD. The Chamber is thrilled to name Hudson as its February Teacher of the Month.
Hudson was honored with the award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on Feb. 20 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon at Venture X, the new shared workspace at The Realm at Castle Hills. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber’s Board President Gary Briggs made the presentation.
Hudson was joined at the event by Stewart’s Creek Principal Andrea Smith.
