Degan Elementary’s Night at the Museum
It was a night to remember as students and families visited Degan Elementary for a “Night at the Museum.”
The cafeteria was transformed into a museum for the evening, complete with booths where students could use their thinking skills, learn new things and get creative.
For budding artists, stations included basket weaving, origami, fingerprint creations and salty science art, while others participated in fossil digging, rocket launches and making clay snakes. Students and their families rotated through each station throughout the room.
Students from the Lewisville High School theatre department volunteered with their own unique booth, a living wax museum. Dressed up in historical garb, students embodied famous figures such as the Wright brothers, Frida Kahlo, Anne Frank and Harriet Tubman. While interacting with the younger students, the high schoolers each gave short speeches about who they represented.
Thanks to all the staff, parents and families who participated in making “Night at the Museum” a great success.
