The Lewisville Independent School District Board of Trustees met for the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on Monday, October 21

CONSIDER ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION
The Board discussed Personnel Recommendations.
The Board consulted with the Board Attorney.
The Board discussed Purchase, Exchange and/or Sale or Value of Real Property.
The Board deliberated security devices, security audits or implementation of security personnel.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Independence Elementary students led the pledge of allegiance and Texas pledge.

RECOGNITIONS
The Board thanked campus principals and encouraged others to do the same as October is National Principals Month.

McAuliffe Elementary was named a 2024 National School of Character. This national certification is the highest level of distinction bestowed by Character.org.

Hebron Valley, Hicks, Independence, Old Settlers and Polser Elementary schools, Marcus 9th Grade Campus and McKamy Middle School, all earned an Apple Distinguished Schools designation. Due to the work of teachers and staff, LISD's Digital Learning and Technology teams, these schools join an esteemed group of 1,000 campuses worldwide to earn this honor.

SUPERINTENDENT UPDATE
As a part of her update, Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp discussed Hispanic Heritage Month, homecoming celebrations, Stuff the Pantry food drive, coat drive, Veterans Day, and other upcoming events. She encouraged the community to continue to submit Recognize Someone appreciation cards and reminded everyone that early voting started Monday.

Director of Health Services Melanie Vincelette, Executive Director of Counseling and Social Work Services Monya Crow, and Trish Cuckler presented the annual update for the Student Health Advisory Council (SHAC). Details

Dr. Rapp presented about preparation for the 89th Legislative Session. Details

Executive Director of Safety & Security Matthew Garrett presented the districtwide intruder detection audit report findings. Details

ACTION ITEMS
The Board approved the SHAC membership, class size waiver, the resolution rejarding support of accountability lawsuit, and the resolution regarding TSDS Transition to the Ed-Fi 4.0 data standards.
