Morningside’s Petrich-Graham Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU September Teacher of the Month

Petrich-Graham is first honoree of 2019-2020 school year.

Petrich-Graham with Principal Rita Bacque and DATCU's Mary Jacoby Angela Petrich-Graham of Morningside Elementary has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union September Teacher of the Month — the first honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.

Petrich-Graham exemplifies Lewisville ISD’s cornerstones of Student Learning and Student Experience by providing engaging, meaningful and relevant opportunities for her students. She arrives at school at 6:30 a.m. each day to ensure she is prepared to lead her students to success.

In addition, Petrich-Graham will stay as late as needed to ensure students gain understanding of the curriculum, and she is known for adjusting her teaching to meet individual needs. Petrich-Graham has led the way on campus by modifying her classroom environment to include stress-reducing strategies to assist students in remaining comfortable enough to take risks and deepen their knowledge of concepts. It is no surprise Petrich-Graham was selected as the Chamber’s September Teacher of the Month.

Petrich-Graham accepted the award, which is sponsored by DATCU, on Oct. 17 at the Chamber’s leadership luncheon held at The Colony Annex. DATCU’s Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber's Director of Membership Judy Ensweiler made the presentation. Petrich-Graham was joined at the luncheon by Morningside Principal Rita Bacque.
