ELECTION INFORMATION
The Board considered the canvassing of votes for the May 4, 2024 Special Bond Election and voted to accept these results.

Judge Oliver administered the Oath of Office to the newly elected Board members.
CONSIDER ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION
The Board discussed the appointments of principals for Vickery Elementary, Downing Middle School, and Marcus High School.
The Board discussed the newly elected Board members and subsequent duties and roles. Jenny Proznik continues as Board President, Katherine Sells is Board Vice President, and Sheila Taylor is Board Secretary.
The Board consulted with the Board Attorney.
The Board had a discussion regarding pending litigation against the District and the purchase, exchange and/or sale or value of real property.
CONSIDER ACTION ON ITEMS DISCUSSED IN CLOSED SESSION: PERSONNEL RECOMMENDATIONS
The Board appointed Felicia Curry as principal of Vickery Elementary, Glen Croll as principal of Downing Middle School, and Dr. Cody Koontz as principal of Marcus High School.
RECOGNITIONS
The following students, teachers and parents were recognized for their outstanding achievements. See photos here.
- Hebron High School's Ritvika Kondakrindi earned gold in the 100-meter dash; silver in the 400-meter dash; and bronze in shot put.
- Flower Mound High School’s Nicole Humphries claimed gold in the 800-meter run.
- Flower Mound High School's boys' soccer team earned State Runner-Up in the UIL 20-24 State 6-A Championship game.
- LISD STEM Academies at Bridlewood and Valley Ridge Elementary schools, have earned their FINAL National Certificate for STEM Excellence distinction from the National Institute for STEM Education.
- Hebron High School’s Vamika Bangarukathi is this year’s Grand Prize Winner of the 20-24 Congressional Art Competition.
- LISD student artists and writers claimed 4 Gold Key and 6 Silver Key awards at the regional, multi-state level of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
- Twelve LISD student artists earned awards in the Texas Art Education Association’s VASE competition.
- Flower Mound High School students Mackenize Hall placed first, earning the gold in marketing design and Sydney Tuffnell claimed bronze for her costume design in the 20-24 U-I-L State Theatrical Design contest.
- Hebron High School student Vamika Bangarukathi earned silver in the Graphic Design Promotion competition; and students Nisha Pandya, Aishwarya Ramkumar Babu and Shreya Yadav Economic Research Team earned bronze.
- TECC West students who competed in the state SkillsUSA competition.
- Hebron, Marcus and The Colony High School students earned top awards in the Texas DECA’s 2024 State Career Development Conference.
- Marcus and Flower Mound High School students brought home top honors from the Texas Association of Future Educators annual state Teach Tomorrow Summit.
- Flower Mound and Hebron High School students who collected top medals and achieved international qualifications in various events at HOSA’s Future Health Professionals 20-24 State Leadership Conference.
- Flower Mound, Hebron and TECC East high school students altogether collected 5 first-place medals, 8 second-place medals, 10 third-place medals and multiple national qualifications in the Texas Technology Student Association’s 20-24 State Conference Competition.
- The Flower Mound and Marcus High School Robotics teams both competed in the First in Texas Tech Challenge State Championships, where MHS claimed bronze and FMHS won first place, the inspire award and achieved 4th place at Worlds.
- Hebron’s Valorant team claimed the Texas Scholastic Esports Federation’s State Championship title; Hebron’s Overwatch and League of Legends teams earned gold; and the Fortnite team earned bronze.
- Marcus High School’s Valorant team earned bronze; The Colony High School’s Mario Kart team earned silver; and The Colony High School’s Apex Legends team earned bronze.
