Thanks to the FC Dallas Foundation and Southern New Hampshire University, Lewisville ISD students have several more summer reading opportunities.
The two partners combined to donate nearly 3,000 new books to LISD students, highlighted by volunteer-led distribution events held at Peters Colony Elementary and Lewisville Elementary on June 25.
The books span pre-kindergarten through eighth grade levels.
“We are thankful for the FC Dallas and Southern New Hampshire University partnerships with Lewisville ISD,” LISD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp said. “Their generous donation will put a new book in close to 3,000 students’ hands, which is an exciting way to enhance literacy and encourage students to continue reading throughout the summer.”
Added LISD Director of Strategic Partnerships Lindsay Ayers: “Partners such as FC Dallas and Southern New Hampshire University help enhance what our teachers do each day. We are grateful for a strong business community that understands the importance of supporting learning for all of our students. We always love connecting with local businesses to help prepare students for their futures.”
Additional book distribution events are being scheduled for later in the summer. Stay tuned for details.
