Notice of Public Meeting: ESSER

ESSER application for federal funds and get information on participating in this program

Notice of public meeting:

The titles of ESSA provide the statutory authorization for various education grant programs that states are required to make available with federal grant dollars. Among other requirements, ESSA mandates that students and teachers at eligible private/non-profit schools (PNPs) receive equitable services under the following title programs: Title I, Part A; Title I, Part C; Title II, Part A; Title III, Part A; Title IV, Part A; Title IV, Part B. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, Public Law 116-136, 134 Stat. 281 authorized the Education Stabilization Fund that creates funding streams for several distinct education programs that address the impact of the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on educational services.  The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund requires a local education agency that receives funds to provide equitable services to students and teachers in private non-profit schools.  Lewisville ISD is inviting private/non-profit school representatives to learn about these federal programs administered by the Texas Education Agency.

On Monday, July 6, 2020 at 10:00 am, a virtual meeting will be held where participants can review and share thoughts on the ESSA and ESSER applications for federal funds and get information on participating in these program.
