Thimesch Resigns from LISD Board of Trustees
Place 1 Trustee Kronda Thimesch today announced her resignation from the LISD Board of Trustees effective May 12, a seat she has held since 2015. Thimesch is seeking election to the Texas House of Representatives to represent District 65.
“On behalf of the LISD Board of Trustees, I want to thank Mrs. Thimesch for her service to the LISD community and for her commitment to our district,” LISD Board President Katherine Sells said. “Even though she is stepping down to pursue election to the Texas House of Representatives, I know she will stay involved in our community and continue advocating for LISD families.”
Thimesch was elected Vice President by her board colleagues in June 2017 and June 2018. During her time as an LISD Trustee she has been a highly-regarded community member, advocating for LISD families while implementing legislative priorities for the district. She has served on finance and facilities committees, and most recently she served on the financial and audit committee. Other LISD service activities include North Texas Area Association of School Board (NTAASB) Board Officer; Lewisville ISD Education Foundation Board Trustee; and LISD Bond Oversight Committee member.
Thimesch and her husband Jeff have been LISD residents since 1990, raising four children in LISD schools. Justin, Kaytin and Jacob all graduated from Hebron High School, and Karissa will graduate from Hebron this spring.
The LISD Board of Trustees will soon make a decision about filling Thimesch’s position for the remainder of the term. Place 1 will be up for election in May 2021.
