Stewart’s Creek's Cortinas Named The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union February Student of the Month
Stewart’s Creek Elementary fifth-grader Leilani Cortinas has been selected as The Colony Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union February Student of the Month – the sixth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
Those who know Cortinas best say she is more than deserving of the Student of the Month honor. She is dedicated to being the best version of herself and puts forth a great amount of effort in everything she does. Cortinas’ principal says she is a great role model for her peers as she is collaborative and supportive. Cortinas’ positive attitude and willingness to always lend a hand is why she has been selected as the Chamber’s February Student of the Month.
Cortinas accepted the award, which is sponsored by DATCU Credit Union, on Feb. 20 at the Chamber’s monthly luncheon at Venture X, the new shared workspace at The Realm at Castle Hills. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and the Chamber’s Board President Gary Briggs made the presentation.
Cortinas was joined at the event by her parents, as well as Stewart’s Creek Principal Andrea Smith.
