Vickery Elementary Named Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU January School of the Month
Vickery Elementary (VES) has been selected as the Lewisville Area Chamber of Commerce/DATCU Credit Union January School of the Month – the fifth honoree of the 2019-2020 school year.
VES was chosen because of its constant dedication, hard work and energy given toward student success, as well as successfully implementing Lewisville ISD’s Four Cornerstones.
Since school started this year, VES has hosted a Space Race fundraiser, an InTents Family Reading Night, Career Day and Movie Night. This month, the Voyagers hosted members of the Harlem Globetrotters, as well as an “Everybody Cooks Rice” multicultural event.
VES continuously goes above and beyond to ensure students thrive in a future they create, which is why the campus was named January School of the Month.
“Being selected as the School of the Month is a huge honor,” VES Principal Adam Gray said. “We love sharing the accomplishments of our students and staff, and take great pride in how Vickery Elementary consistently rises to the challenges it faces.”
Gray accepted the award Jan. 28 at the Chamber’s partnership luncheon held at Courtyard by Marriott. DATCU Community Relations Coordinator Mary Jacoby and Chamber Board Chair Ann Pape made the presentation. Gray was joined by teacher Angie Kemp and student Richard Phelps.
